Comedian Jack Whitehall has become a father for the first time. His partner Roxy Horner has given birth to a daughter in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London. Kate Middleton, who, like the 35-year-old comedian, also went to Marlborough College, also had her children there.
Whitehall posted the news and photographs on Instagram:
"Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever. So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’d never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid. I also wore skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full blown dad now.
Name wise after this weekend I think ‘rice, rice, baby’ has a nice ring to it."
Whitehall previously announced Horner's pregnancy on social media, posting a picture of himself and his girlfriend Roxy Horner holding a scan and saying: "And I thought I wasn’t getting enough attention when the dog arrived…".
His current arena tour is called Settle Down. He said of the tour, “this is my most personal show yet, with plenty of material about the big changes that have happened in my life. It’s about my struggle to settle down gracefully. I’ve got a long-term partner, a ridiculous dog and am now hurtling towards middle aged without a clue. It’s about a foppish man-child’s cack handed attempt at adulting!”
