James Buckley, Amy Gledhill, Romilly Weeks and Gary Wilmot test their general knowledge skills on this week's House of Games, hosted, as ever, by best-selling crime author Richard Osman.
Amy Gledhill is an award-winning comedian and actor, nominated for Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer in 2022 and Best Show at the National Comedy Awards 2023. She’s starred in the BAFTA-winning Alma’s Not Normal, been a regular on ITV2’s The Emily Atack Show, appeared on ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show and Dave’s Hypothetical. She is also one half of ‘cult hit’ (The Guardian) favourites and two-time Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Show nominated duo The Delightful Sausage.
She is also the co-host of hilarious podcast Northern News with Ian Smith.
James Buckley is best known as Jay in The Inbetweeners, but he nearly missed out on the iconic role, as he explained in an interview on Spencer Matthews' podcast Big Fish: "I got a phone call from my then agent. She literally said something like ‘I've got some good news and I've got some bad news.’ The good news is that they're going ahead with The Inbetweeners, or Baggy Trousers as it was called then. I was like, brilliant, I’m going to be in a sitcom. Absolutely amazing. She went ‘bad news is that they're recasting."
I said ‘there's no good news here.’ I then got in touch with Damon Beasley, one of the co-creators of The Inbetweeners, and I said ‘I heard that that is going ahead, congratulations. And I know you guys are recasting, but if there's another part, I'd love to come in and do a job for you.’ He replied saying no, ‘we want you to be Jay. Did your agent not tell you this? We need to see you tomorrow to talk to you about this and we're going to audition a load of other kids at the time.’ If I'd never have sent that message and sort of hustled a little bit, I would’ve never turned up to the meeting the following day."
Gary Wilmot is one of the country's most seasoned entertainers, best known for light entertainment shows and his starring role in Me & My Girl. He also regularly appears in Panto at the London Palladium.
Romilly Weeks is one of TV's most well-known newsreaders.
