After 240,000 public votes were registered, it’s time to reveal the winners of the I Talk Telly Awards 2023.
Since launching in 2015, the I Talk Telly Awards, created by founder Elliot Gonzalez, have now seen over 2.2 million votes registered.
Entirely voted for by the public, there were massive wins for David Tennant who took home four awards including Best Dramatic Performance for Litvinenko, as well as three awards shared with Michael Sheen; Best Returning Comedy and Best Comedy Partnership for Staged as well as Best Returning Drama for Good Omens.
In the soap categories, it was another big year for EastEnders which retained its crown as Best Soap, with wins also in Best Soap Performance for Danielle Harold and Best Soap Partnership for Max Bowden and Tony Clay. This year, Best Soap Newcomer went to Cait Fitton for Coronation Street.
Other big winners included The Traitors, taking home two awards for Best Reality TV Show and Best TV Presenter for Claudia Winkleman and The Last of Us which also took home two awards for Best International Drama and Best Breakthrough for Bella Ramsey.
Since launching in 2021, Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, has won Best International Comedy every year and 2023 was no different. Elsewhere in the
comedy categories, Alan Carr’s Changing Ends has won Best New Comedy and as Ghosts comes to an end this Christmas Day, Lolly Adefope takes home the trophy for Best Comedy Performance.
For the first time in the awards nine year history, This Morning lost out to The Repair Shop who won Best Daytime Show and for the first time in 7 years, Gogglebox lost out to Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs which won Best Factual Entertainment.
After losing out to Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, The Great British Bake Off has beaten them this year to win Best Talent Show and The Graham Norton Show wins Best Entertainment Show, having lost out to Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway for the last three years.
Elsewhere, Sir David Attenborough’s Planet Earth III wins Best Documentary Series, Rose Ayling-Ellis: Signs for Change wins Best Single Documentary, Sir Lenny Henry’s drama Three Little Birds beat off tough competition to win Best New Drama and Ant & Dec win Best TV Presenting Partnership for the 9th year in a row!
