Christopher Macarthur-Boyd To Release Debut Stand-Up Special

Rising star Christopher Macarthur-Boyd’s debut stand-up hour ‘Oh No’ is set to be released as a special on 23rd January 2024. Produced and distributed by 800 Pound Gorilla Media, the special will be available to watch on their website as part of a “name your own price” offer, followed by their Youtube Channel on 1st February.

Glaswegian comic Christopher Macarthur-Boyd brings you his first ever stand-up special ‘Oh No’, filmed at the iconic Monkey Barrel Comedy in Edinburgh, featuring breezy laid-back jokes and stories about depression, tattoos, butter, and the meaning of life. The world seemingly ends, Christopher loses his job, pees himself, is constantly worried about his Dad’s poor breathing and becomes dependent on expensive meal subscription kits. What else can he say to all this, other than just, “oh no”?

Born and bred in Glasgow, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd is a rising star of Scottish stand-up. On TV, he has co-starred in two series of BBC Scotland’s Up For It, hosted BBC Scotland’s stand-up vehicle, The Comedy Underground, recently appeared on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC Two) and has made multiple appearances on the Scotland Made Me (BBC Scotland) series. Christopher has also appeared on Comedy Central Live and is a regular on BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News. Christopher has written for popular TV shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) and Late Night Mash (Dave).

On Radio, he has made appearances on BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Stands Up At The Fringe, BBC Radio 4’s Fred at The Stand. He co-hosts the comedy podcast Enjoy An Album with Liam Withnail, where they listen to, and review, the greatest Albums of all time, and has featured as a guest on podcasts including Russell Kane’s Evil Genius for BBC Sounds.

Fast becoming an Edinburgh Festival Fringe favourite, Christopher consistently sells out his runs and is one of the best reviewed Scottish stand-ups at the festival. In 2023, Christopher returned to the Fringe with his critically acclaimed new show, ‘Scary Times!’, selling out his run and adding multiple extra shows due to exceptional demand. He is set to hit the road next year with his first full UK tour.
