Plop plop – you’re FINALLY listening to TURDCAST - the podcast which is set to launch for one episode only ahead of the award-winning comedian’s upcoming documentary, Joe Lycett Vs Sewage.
The first – and last – episode of Turdcast sees Joe chat to Gary Lineker and is now available on all podcast platforms.
In the only episode of Turdcast, Lineker talks to Joe about the now-legendary moment he ‘relieved’ himself on the pitch in England’s opening game of the 1990 World Cup in front of hundreds of millions of people, Gazza farting during team baths and more.
The original ‘Turdcast’ was set to launch in November last year, but was ‘cancelled’ following a public stunt set up by the comedian where a giant inflatable toilet dubbed the Turdis accidentally leaked fake sewage into Liverpool Docks (it was actually marine mud). The subsequent ‘fall-out’ led to Joe aborting the launch and subsequently announcing that the podcast had been cancelled, all with the aim of drawing wider public attention to UK water companies spilling sewage into the nation’s waterways and seas.
Having previously taken on the oil industry in ‘Joe Lycett vs the Oil Giant’ and following on from the Bafta-winning ‘Joe Lycett vs David Beckham’, this new special for Channel 4 will see Joe investigate how our waterways have become so polluted and why water companies have been allowed to taint one of our most precious resources.
Joe Lycett says: “This is a fake podcast that is now a real podcast but only for one episode so it is a real fake podcast. Does that make sense?”
Joe Lycett vs Sewage is on Channel 4 on Tuesday 20 February at 9pm.
Turdcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Find out more information at https://turdcast.co.uk/
