Punt And Dennis Tour For First Time In A Decade

Punt And Dennis Tour For First Time In A Decade

Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis are set to embark on a nationwide tour after a decade-long hiatus. Older but still unapologetically irreverent, Punt & Dennis are poised to take audiences on a riotous journey with their latest show, titled ‘We Are Not A Robot’.

Having spent the past ten years dissecting the absurdities of the world through their sharp wit on programs like ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘The Now Show,’ the question arises: What insights have the comedic veterans gleaned, and have they managed to craft new jokes worthy of their storied careers? According to the duo, the answer is a resounding yes.

Punt & Dennis, celebrated for their incisive observational humour, quick banter, and unforgettable sketches, are synonymous with intelligent comedy and impeccable timing. Emerging from the iconic '90s series ‘The Mary Whitehouse Experience’, the duo's first standalone TV venture, ‘The Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis’, birthed the whimsically named ‘The Milky Milky Tour’, paying homage to a peculiar Dennis character from their earlier work.

Transitioning seamlessly between television, radio, and the live comedy circuit, Punt & Dennis have solidified their status as household names. Hugh Dennis probably best known for the popular sitcom ‘Outnumbered’ recently appeared in C4’s psychological thriller, ‘The Couple Next Door’. Other parts include the bank manager in ‘Fleabag’, Toby in ‘Not Going Out’ and he cameoed as a scientist in an M16 laboratory in the Bond film ‘No Time to Die’. Dennis presents C4’s community archaeology television show, ‘The Great British Dig’.

Steve Punt is a much in demand writer, presenter, script editor and voice over artist. He presents the quiz show ‘3rd degree’ on BBC Radio 4 as well as ‘Punt PI’ using his sleuthing skills to explore unsolved cases across the UK.  His TV writing credits include ‘The Rory Bremner Show’, ‘The Nearly Complete and Utter History of Everything’, various episodes of ‘Spitting Image’ and its retrospective documentary ‘Best Ever Spitting Image’, ‘Baddiel's Syndrome’, ‘Horrible Histories’ and ‘Would I Lie to You?’. As a performer Punt has appeared in Monty Python’s ‘Holy Flying Circus ‘playing Eric Idle and in 2016 he played the narrator in a tour of ‘The Rocky Horror Show’.

As they return to the stage, showcasing a medley of classic sketches, improvisation and new material, audiences can expect an uproarious celebration of the duo's comedic legacy, proving that after a decade, Punt & Dennis are still very much in a league of their own.
