The final of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year has taken place. This was the 30th edition and eight comedians, nominated by industry professionals battled it out at The Y Theatre. the night was hosted by Sindhu Vee and past winners have included Josh Widdicombe, Johnny Vegas and Romesh Ranganathan.

And the winner is...

Eva Bindeman

Blank Peng was runner-up, with Fiona Ridgewell third.

On winning the prestigious title, Eva Bindeman said: "It's shocking and an honour to win Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and I'm bloody delighted, especially considering how good everyone was!"

Kitty Singleton from Off the Kerb and Georgi McKie from Gag Reflex, Charlotte Lang from The Cabaret Tent, Glastonbury Festival, Mark Boosey from The British Comedy Guide and Festival Patron/Comedian Eshaan Akbar were the judgeds.
