Award-winning live comedy producers Berk’s Nest have announced seven more Edinburgh Fringe shows that they’ll be taking to the festival this August, with still more to be announced later in the week on Thursday 4th April. Newly announced shows include the return of Taskmaster’s Sophie Duker, Live at the Apollo’s Celya AB, and Paul Williams - the ‘little Alex Horne’ of Taskmaster New Zealand.
The latest additions join Berk’s Nest's already unmissable 2024 roster, which so far features superstar newcomer Kemah Bob, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Colin Hoult, sketch super-troupe Tarot, award-winning New York sensation Catherine Cohen, and New Zealand’s favourite comedy pop-music duo Two Hearts.
The shows are:
-
Acclaimed character comic Emma Sidi makes her highly anticipated return to the festival. And now she’s Sue Gray. But who is Sue Gray? Well, she’s [REDACTED]. This brand new show from the star of Starstruck, Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats and Pls Like is another unmissable hour of “bonkers originality” (★★★★ Telegraph).
-
After a sell-out tour and barnstorming appearances at JFL Montreal and Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Live At The Apollo star Celya AB tackles money, beauty and the void in Of All People.
-
Paul Williams, fan-favourite task-setter of Taskmaster NZ, returns to the Edinburgh Fringe for a third time after sell-out shows at Melbourne, New Zealand, and London’s Soho Theatre. Paul bought a second-hand film camera last year and it turned out the previous owner had left a used-up roll of film in it. This show is about that.
-
The sexiest comic alive (please do not factcheck!) Sophie Duker is back! BUT DADDY I LOVE HER is the Taskmaster champion and Live At The Apollo star’s eagerly awaited, completely delusional third show.
-
After years away from stand-up (due to the global pandemic and a lack of interest in being out late), co-writer and co-director of BBC and HBO’s Starstruck Alice Snedden returns. Highly Credible will cover: Alice’s life in the last three years; her car getting stolen; fertility; a bit of gay stuff (yet to be written but feels pretty likely).
-
Kieran Hodgson (Two Doors Down) brings a limited run of brand-new work in progress material to the Pleasance, following last year’s fourth Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Big in Scotland and a critically acclaimed, extended, sell-out tour.
-
Star of Taskmaster, Ghosts, and Stath Lets Flats, Kiell Smith-Bynoe brings his unmissable improvised comedy show Kool Story Bro back to the Fringe for one week only, following last year’s sell-out run and shows at Soho Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, and Theatre Royal Stratford East. Featuring the very best improvisers in the country and very special guests.
This summer marks Berk’s Nest’s eleventh year at the Edinburgh Fringe, with over a decade spent producing critically acclaimed, innovative and ambitious shows with some of the most exciting comedic talent in the UK and abroad. Those on sale today join a list of over a hundred unmissable shows that Berk’s Nest has produced at the festival and on tour across the UK, including many that have gone on to be released as specials for the likes of Prime Video, HBO Max, the BBC, and Netflix.
