Sunday Brunch Guests

Sunday Brunch Guests

Sunday Brunch co-host Tim Lovejoy came in for some stick on social media last week when he didn't seem to be aware that guest and current Taskmaster star John Robins had given up alcohol. Hopefully things will run more smoothly this week when the guests include Jo Hartley, Greg Jenner and Jessica Knappett alongside musicians The Zutons and Orbital.

Jo Hartley is one of those top character actors whose face you will instantly recognise even if you don't know the name. She has worked frequently with Ricky Gervais and was recently seen in a more straight role in the ITV drama Passenger. Hartley is one of the stars of Swede Caroline, a new British film set in the world of competitive vegetable growing. Starring an ensemble cast led by Hartley, Richard Lumsden, Celyn Jones and Aisling Bea, "SWEDE CAROLINE" is a comedic jab at the eccentric world of competitive vegetable growers. The film also features Fay Ripley, Alice Lowe, Ray Fearon and Steve Brody.

Comedy fans will know Jessica Knappett from shows including Drifters and Taskmaster. She is now the co-star tof he Romesh Ranganathan sitcom Avoidance, which has just started its second series on BBC One on Friday nights. Maybe Tim Lovejoy will ask if Romesh has cloned himself so that he can appear on so many shows. Knappett plays his ex-wife in the comedy. He wants to get back with her but she has a new boyfriend...

Greg Jenner is a genuine historian and also a genuinely funny man. He's written five books and worked on Horrible Histories and also once worked in Blockbuster video. He recently posted on X, formerly Twitter, that the film Catwoman with Halle Berry was so bad that "we actually started hiding the DVD cases so customers couldn’t rent it, because so many came in later to angrily demand a refund!" Jenner will be chatting history and eating food with Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.
