Tributes Paid To Comedian Stu Who

Tributes have been paid to Scottish comedian Stu Who, Stuart Henderson, who has died after a long illness.

Kahl, Stu’s son, posted the news on Facebook: "Just a short message to let everyone know that Stu passed away this morning. He’s been very ill for some time and although this has been an incredibly upsetting day for the family, there’s some relief that he’s not in pain any more.

We’re at the very early stages of planning his funeral and I’ll post details here when I have them.
At this time we’d greatly appreciate some privacy and time to grieve, this is for Maggi in particular. Also, could I request that only close family visit Maggi at home.
I understand that people will want to express their thoughts here, I’ll leave this to you all.
I’ll post again when I have more information.
Thank you.
Kahl."

Henderson had recently moved to a care home in Cumbernauld. Tributes immediately flooded in on social media.

Comedian John Ryan wrote on Facebook: "I had some hilarious nights and weekends away with him when Jongleurs was in full flow. I doubt I will ever meet anyone as entertaining as him again. Sending love and best wishes x"

Susan Murray wrote: "Very very sorry to hear this. He was a legend in comedy. It was a privilege to have gigged and hung out with him over the decades. Sending much love to you and Maggi."

Jim Tavare added: "So so sorry. He was so brave detailing his on-going health events here and always with a smile on his face and with his own unique positivity. He really will be missed. Love ya Stu"

Robbie Muir wrote: "Aww this is such awful news.I worked with Stu in Jongleurs and he was such a beautiful person and an amazing comic, we always knew he was in because he'd always have the green room in stitches, but we had some very deep conversations between us too. He always made time and I very much will remember him fondly.
My sincere condolences to the family"

Richard Morton wrote: "So sorry to hear this terrible news Karl, I first met and worked with Stu back in the 80s and it was always a pleasure to be in his company. I was also on the Funny Farm TV show in ‘91 which Stu presented in his own inimitable style and I remember him giving me a great introduction. He was a lovely, funny man - sending love and sincere condolences to you and Maggi x"

Brendan Riley wrote: "So sorry to see this post, what a great guy Stu was he helped me out when I started comedy and we have had so many great comedy adventures together …so so sorry x x x x"
