New Channel 4 Comedy Blap Directed by Starstruck's Alice Snedden

Break Clause, made by BBC Studios Comedy Productions, is the newest addition to Channel 4’s roster of short-form comedy Blaps.

Written and created by Jess Bray (The Outlaws) and directed by Alice Snedden (Starstruck), Break Clause is classic love story territory. Boy meets girl. Girl gets job in the city. Boy and girl break up on the first night of moving in together and find themselves stuck in a legally binding contract they can only end after a fixed term period of six months - you know, real Jane Austen stuff. This is the true cost of loving in a cost of living crisis...

Break Clause stars BAFTA-nominated Samuel Bottomley (Somewhere BoyHow to Have Sex) as Ben and Lara Ricote (Live at the Apollo, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer 2022) as Lil, plus ensemble Lauryn Ajufo (Everything Now) Leo Reich (Leo ReichLiterally Who Cares?!) and Jamali Maddix (Never Mind the Buzzcocks).

Break Clause is a 1x15 minute comedy short for Channel 4. Executive Producers are Jess Bray, Mark Freeland, and Josh Cole for BBC Studios Comedy Productions. Commissioning Editor for Channel 4 is Laura Riseam and Molly Seymour is Producer.

Break Clause will be available to stream on YouTube and Channel 4 in due course.
