The eagerly anticipated Junior Taskmaster is set to air weekly from 8pm on Friday 8th November on Channel 4. Junior Taskmaster is the brand new offspring of the BAFTA and National Comedy Award winning, Taskmaster, and taking to the thrones are Junior Taskmaster Rose Matafeo (Comedy Award winner, BAFTA & RTS Award nominated comedian, director, writer and actor) and Assistant Mike Wozniak (Double Comedy Award nominee, comedian, writer, ex-GP and star of Man Down).
Set to take on the fiendishly baffling series of tasks are twenty-five contestants aged between nine and eleven who show up, ready and willing to give their all in the name of entertainment. Matafeo will pass judgement as they complete the typically idiosyncratic challenges in the brand new Junior Taskmaster house, equipped with a shed, a caravan, a laboratory, alongside a dazzle of zebras, sandcastle pedestal and revolving top hat spinning wheel. With tasks that are designed to encourage and inspire wile, wit, creativity, and athleticism, Wozniak is in his element enthusiastically overseeing each and every task.
During the series, our twenty-five young heroes will compete across five heats and two semi-finals before the top five players will head through to the to the Grand Final, where they will hope to become the very first Junior Taskmaster Champion and, continuing the Taskmaster tradition, have the honour of taking home a trophy of the Junior Taskmaster’s magnificent golden head.
Taskmaster is already watched by a broad multi-generational audience and was in Channel 4’s top three series of audience share of young viewers (16-34) in the coveted 9pm slot, with Gogglebox and Derry Girls. Taskmaster is also hugely popular on Channel 4’s streaming service, with the average views per episode [0-7Days, O&O] growing since 2021.
