Geoff Norcott’s New Comedy Special ‘Basic Bloke’ Premieres on NextUp

NextUp has released  ‘Basic Bloke’, the new stand-up special from acclaimed comedian Geoff Norcott, filmed in Stevenage.

Known for his honest perspective on shows such as Mock the Week, Question Time, and The Mash Report, Basic Bloke promises an hour of sharp, self-aware comedy, balancing relatable personal anecdotes with Norcott’s signature wit. The show is a kind and funny stock-take of both Geoff and his fellow man, unlocking some of the more complicated behaviour of husbands, dads, and brothers across the UK.

Speaking about the release, Geoff said: “I’m delighted to get this special out there for people to watch. There’s a lot about Stevenage people don’t know, and almost all of it is worse than the things they already knew. I’m also glad someone is speaking up for the average male. I know there are some wronguns out there, but most blokes like me are trying their best. We just find it hard to retain any information about the people we love and expect medals for doing simple tasks. Is that too much to ask?”

Tom Brandt, Head of Content at NextUp says: ‘We’re really excited to add Basic Bloke to the catalogue and we know our members will be too; Geoff continues to carve out a unique voice on the comedy circuit - a rare performer who can  draw laughs from both sides of the cultural spectrum.  Basic Bloke is the first of a number of extremely high calibre comedians whose shows we’re releasing over the coming months - watch this space!”
