Performances of A Christmas Carol (ish) have resumed at @sohoplace. The song and dance Dickens spoof, starring Nick Mohammed with Martha Howe-Douglas, David Elms and Kieran Hodgson, had to be halted halfway through the press night on Thursday due to a technical issue.
The following statement was made by the venue on the night: “We are devastated that the press night for A Christmas Carol (ish) could not be completed tonight due to technical difficulties @sohoplace. This the first time since we opened two years ago that we have encountered such a problem.
“We are working hard to resolve the issues at hand and are in total admiration of the extraordinary cast, production and creative teams led by Nick Mohammed, who have worked so hard to bring such a brilliant show to their audiences.
“Performances on Friday 22nd November will not go ahead in order to give us time to fully resolve the matter. Audience members present at Thursday’s performance or due to see the show on Friday will be contacted by the box office team.
“We look forward to welcoming audiences back from Saturday.”
Today an update has been issued: "Following the cancellation of Thursday and Friday’s performances of A Christmas Carol (ish) due to an unprecedented power supply issue @sohoplace, we are thrilled to confirm that A Christmas Carol (ish) will resume performances from tomorrow, Saturday 23rd November with a matinee followed by an evening performance. On behalf of Nick Mohammed, Berk’s Nest, and everyone involved in the production, a huge thank you to Nica Burns and Nimax, and all the team @sohoplace for their hard work resolving this issue. A big thank you to our audiences for your patience and understanding during this time. We can’t wait to welcome you back with open arms.”
