First Season Of Black Ops To Air In America

Season one of the multi-award winning comedy thriller “Black Ops”, will be coming to Hulu in the US in early 2025.

Produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions and Mondo Deluxe and created by BAFTA- winning actor and writer Gbemisola Ikumelo (Famalam, Brain in Gear), BAFTA-winning actor and producer Akemnji Ndifornyen (Famalam, The Queen’s Gambit) and writing duo Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf (Click and Collect, Witless), the show won over UK viewers and critics alike on the BBC One and BBC iPlayer, drawing an audience of 2.3M for the first episode and 1.6M across the full series (BARB 28 Day 4 Screen).

Black Ops sees Dom (Gbemisola Ikumelo) and Kay (Hammed Animashaun) join the Met Police as Police Community Support Officers, in the hope of cleaning up their community. Soon, however, they find themselves unwittingly thrust into the murky world of deep cover infiltration and a powerful criminal enterprise.

Josh Cole, Head of Comedy at BBC Studios, says: “Black Ops had UK viewers hooked on a mix of adventure, danger and big laughs, so we’re delighted that Hulu audiences will soon be able to enjoy this very special show”.

Season Two of “Black Ops” begins filming in the UK in early 2025. BBC Studios, who hold global distribution rights for both seasons of “Black Ops”, brokered the deal with Hulu for Season One in the U.S. Black Ops was commissioned by Jon Petrie for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The Executive Producer is Josh Cole and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Seb Barwell.
