At 30, Lauren Pattison wants to be less terrified of everything and embrace life more fully. The trouble is, a lot of things ARE scary: learning to drive, showing up for a colonoscopy, and pretty much everything in between. Still, here she is: bigger, bolder and blonder as she returns for a new national tour.
Lauren’s combination of wickedness and warmth has been endearing her to sell-out audiences for – incredibly, to her – twelve of those thirty years now. She’s always made a huge impression on the Edinburgh
Fringe, winning Edinburgh Best Newcomer as well as a Herald Angel Award for her debut ‘Lady Muck’ in 2017, and then crawling from the wreckage of the pandemic to perform at the scaled-down
festival in 2021 (with a show that was partly about working in Morrison’s café alongside her own mother during Covid). In those difficult days, Lauren - like a lot of people - questioned whether there was a
future in comedy for her at all... but only a year later she was at the awards ceremony again, this time as nominee for Edinburgh Best Show itself. (In typically chaotic fashion, Lauren was in an
underground studio when the news broke, recording an ad for Mecca bingo, so she herself was the last to find out.)
