Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, comedian Ania Magliano, Joe Swash and Jasmine Takhar are the celebrities battling it out for those precious prizes this week.

Comedy fans may have spotted Ania Magliano on Live at the Apollo recently. the half-Polish and half-Italian London-based stand-up who was a member of the prestigious Cambridge Footlights group is very much a rising star and has been making waves on the comedy circuit for the last few years. She picked up a lot of good reviews for her debut show  Absolutely No Worries If Not and in 2023 picked up a nomination for Best Show for I Can't Believe You've Done This, which touched on issues ranging from bad haircuts to self defence classes and sexual assault. 

She has also been nominated for the Sky Arts Breakthrough award alongside Ben Goldscheider (Classical Music), Jemima Brown (Dance), Savanah Leaf (Film), Kaliane Bradley (Literature), Aigul Akhmetshina (Opera), Ella Frears (Poetry), Kneecap (Popular Music), Adjani Salmon (Television), Ben Weatherill (Theatre) and Claudette Johnson (Visual Arts).

She is about to head out on tour with her latest show, Forgive Me, Father, in which she talks about subjects including moving in with her boyfriend and being a little bit too obsessed with social media. More details and tour date links here

As a writer, Ania has written for The Emily Atack Show (ITV2), Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2), Newsjack (BBC R4) and The Now Show (BBC R4). Ania writes with Amelia Dimoldenberg on Chicken Shop Date and Amelia’s Cooking Show, featuring guests such as Ed SheeranCher, Paul MescalShania Twain, Jennifer Lawrence and Louis Theroux. The relatable gen z stand-up has a growing social media following, including 24k followers on X, 24k followers on Instagram and over 1 million views on YouTube with over 20k subscribers. She’s recently branched out into TikTok, amassing over 2.3 million likes.
