Masked Singer Fans Convinced Kingfisher Is A Comedian But Which One?

Masked Singer fans have been baffled by the appearance on Kingfisher on the current ITV1 series, presented by Joel Dommett, and have taken to social media to discuss the identity.

Everyone seems convinced that Kingfiher is a comedian but there is a heated debate about which one? Could it be Paul Whitehouse? Bob Mortimer? Harry Hill? Simon Farnaby? Or even someone else from the comedy world? Joe Pasquale maybe?

Fans have tried to decipher clues to work out the identity. The "fish" element of the name has pointed them in the direction of Gone Fishing co-stars Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer. It is also well-known that Whitehouse is an accomplished singer, having sung on TV comedy shows and onstage in the Only Fools And Horses musical. Kingfisher sang Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls on Saturday's show.

Some viewers were sure it was Harry Hill. They thought the former doctor's speaking voice and his singing voice sounded like Hill.

Whitehouse alerted suspicions when he appeared on Lorraine. He joked: "Whoever has done it, Harry Hill, has very cleverly thrown the focus to me." The comment prompted Lorraine's curiosity: "Oh you think it might be Harry Hill?"

On X Gill opted for a classic Harry Hill catchphrase: "Kingfisher is either Bob Mortimer or Harry Hill. But which one? There's only one way to find out... #MaskedSingerUK."

While Nick Apps was certain about the answer: "Kingfisher is 100% Bob Mortimer I have no clue where everyone is getting Harry Hill from #MaskedSingerUK"

Phillip Lickley, however, threw in a new curveball into the mix, wondering if Ghosts/Detectorists/Paddington comic Simon Farnaby was hiding under the costume: "He sounded like Harry Hill at the start, now he is back to sounding like Simon Farnaby! #TheMaskedSinger #MaskedSingerUK"

Judging by the voice though Harry Hill certainly seemed to be the favourite: "Whatever the blue bird thing on #MaskedSinger is…. That’s Harry Hill, right?" wrote Stevie B.

Next episode, Saturday, January 25, 7pm, ITV1.
