The winner of the Bristol Comedy Competition at the Bristol Comedy Festival has been announced.
240 entries who sent in clips were whittled down to heats and then two semi-finals, followed by a final feauring six acts at Bristol Folk House on Friday night.
And the winner is JoJo Maberly (pictured), who impressed the judge (me) with her mix of looped sound effects, quirky songs and stories about growing up in the same village as Ed Sheeran.
Second place went to Maddie Coombes.
Maberly wins a prize of £1000, which includes £500 worth of paid work. Coombes wins £250 worth of paid work.
The other finalists were Vinny Shiu, Daisy Doris May as Steve Portas, Emma Hughes and Omari Douglas
The close fought final was compered by festival organiser and comedian Burt Williamson.
