Last year’s winner Marty Gleeson commented "This award opened up so many doors for me in my comedy career. While it gave me visibility, it also was a huge boost of confidence in my craft. It's a vital competition for queer voices in comedy."
Comedy Bloomers founder, Chris Smith said: “Each year, we aim to create a platform that showcases incredible LGBTQ+ talent and makes a lasting impact. This competition is about more than laughter—it’s about pushing back against marginalization.
We’re proud to support performers who turn their unique perspectives into comedic brilliance. In a time of rising intolerance, celebrating these voices is more important than ever. Laughter breaks barriers and unites people, and these performers prove that.”
