Comedian Kate Smurthwaite claims that her drag king character Milo Standards' penis is over a metre long. She took a tape measure to the advertising hoarding outside her Fool’s Paradise venue in Victoria Square to calculate the length.
The “PENIS” in question, in a bold wooden font, is part of the artwork for the drag king’s show “Penis De Milo” running at The Lab venue in Fool’s Paradise until 16th March.
“If yours is bigger, I’ll give you a free companion seat when you come to the show…you’ll need it!” says Smurthwaite.
The comedian created the terrifying but oh-so-familiar drag king character called Milo Standards for Adelaide Fringe 2025. Milo promises to “unzip the trousers of truth and lay it on the table”.
With dating tips from his hit podcast The Schlong Game and masculinity so toxic Woodside would pump it in the sea, Milo Standards is here to explain to the feminists how they've been doing it all wrong.
Satirising the TikTok generation of "men's activists" from their bizarre approach to wellness to their aggressive dating advice and obsession with Alpha status. Penis De Milo is the show Andrew Tate would write if he was funny.
Kate says: Milo was so fun to write and is always so fun, if exhausting, to perform. He says everything I would never dream of saying in my own stand-up. A simple idea to send up the patriarchy from the inside rather has created a character that audiences love and love to hate. I had no idea if Milo would work or if I could really step into the art of drag which I’ve been a fan of for so many years. But the reaction in Edinburgh and on tour around the UK has been huge. I’m so excited to bring this handsome b*stard to the gorgeous Fool’s Paradise venue in Adelaide!

This is her second full length show as Milo, and the first time Milo has come to Australia. Writing about the previous one Kate Copstick in The Scotsman said “This is a fun show. Proper funny fun... a polished comedy hour.”
Kate has appeared on over 2000 TV and radio shows in the UK and around the world including ABC News and across the BBC. She has written for Have I Got News For You? and the BAFTA-winning The Revolution Will Be Televised and has her own popular online political video series called News at Kate (in which Milo makes occasional appearances).
