Manchester to Host Three-Day Festival Of New Comedy Shows

A Lovely Weekend, returns to Manchester this June with another sensational line-up of work-in-progress shows from TV faces, viral sensations and critically acclaimed stand-ups.

Spread over 3 days from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June, the festival is bringing 19 new shows to Manchester’s Fairfield Social Club. Returning for its second year, 2025’s line-up includes Edinburgh Comedy Award winners including John Kearns and Jordan Brookes. Local talent done good Rachel Fairburn and Josh Jones. Then there’s hotly tipped newcomers including Sharon Wanjohi, Ayoade Bamgboye and Molly McGuinness. Plus, we’ve got cult sensations like Mark Silcox and the formidable Frankie Monroe, making for a truly unmissable weekend of comedy!

The festival has been organised by John Stansfield and Chris Cantrill, the brains behind production company, A Lovely Time. John says, “it’s such an honour to bring this amazing line-up of comedians to Manchester which is quickly becoming the most exciting city for comedy in the UK.” Chris, who is also a comedian, added, “as a comedy fan I have to say I cannot wait for this year’s festival. It feels positively decadent!”

It’s possible to buy tickets to individual shows, as well as passes for the specific days. For the best value, visitors can also buy tickets to the whole weekend which also includes a complimentary brew and breakfast sarnie on Saturday and Sunday. Now that’s how you do a comedy festival up North!
