Rosie Holt and Kieran Hosgson are set to star in Ashley Blaker’s new stand-up series for BBC Radio 4: Ashley Blaker’s Hyperfixations.

“This is the perfect cast to bring Ashley’s Hyperfixated mind to life on stage” said Steve Doherty, the show’s producer. Ashley’s previous BBC shows for Radio 4 include two series of his family comedy Ashley Blaker: 6.5 Children. The new series of four half hours, which records later this month in London, is Blaker’s first to originate in the primetime 6.30pm comedy slot.

Rosie Holt is well known to comedy audiences for her sell-out live shows and her online persona, Rosie Holt MP, skewering the political landscape since the pandemic. She is also the host of critically- acclaimed satirical podcast, Noncensored. Kieran Hodgson is a four-times Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee comedian and actor – widely known from his starring role in hit BBC 2 sitcom, Two Doors Down and in major superhero movie, The Flash from Warner Brothers.

One of the most significant aspects of Ashley’s autism and ADHD diagnosis is his propensity for hyperfixation and special interests, which he now realises has entirely shaped his past. In this series, Ashley takes a comedic look at each of his obsessions in turn, merging personal memoir with an in depth comedic delve into subjects which have yet to be covered in stand-up comedy shows, including professional wrestling, 17th Century history, Orthodox Judaism and tattoos.

Steve Doherty added: “I’ve known Ashley for a long time and have always been amazed by his endless capacity to become fixated with stories, characters ... almost anything. The scripts for the show have come together beautifully and I can’t wait to bring this show into the world.”
