Get ready for ‘It’s Ableism’ – the fun, laidback podcast about disability, ableism, and the structural oppression of disabled people (that classically super chill and easy-going topic!).

This nihilistic Now Show-style podcast intertwines public and personal disability news stories with comedy to create catharsis and community over the complex issue of ableism. A parody of the genre of gentle podcasts designed to help the audience be better people that, instead, argues that we are all trapped in an ableist trashcan fire and the only thing left to do is laugh about it.

In each episode, hosts Cerys Bradley and Miggy Barker, along with weekly guests including Benny Shakes, Georgia Bondy, and Variety D, blend public and personal disability news with incisive comedy. Together, they tackle complex topics such as nature, toilets, and performance, opening up a dialogue around ableism within these spaces, delivered with a fun, lighthearted, and crucially, cathartic approach.

Cerys Bradley is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer and podcaster. They make surreal, audience-led, alternative comedy shows about neurodiversity and queerness and their Edinburgh Fringe debut, Sportsperson, won the Neurodiverse Review’s first ever award for Actually Autistic Excellence. They have been working in podcasting and radio since hosting their first show on Stroud FM at the age of 16.

Miggy Barker is a drag performer and performance poet who uses their platform to raise awareness of the inaccessibility of venues and performance spaces to wheelchair users. They reached the finals of Man Up 2023 and have performed at venues such as the Clapham Grand and the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
