Comedian Cerys Nelmes could be facing a jail sentence in Turkey after allegedly walking out of an Istanbul shop without paying for goods.
Nelmes had been on holiday when towards the end of her stay she visited a branch of Zara. She said in a video that she posted on Facebook and then removed, that when she realised she had accidentally not paid she immediately returned and offered to pay, but the case quickly escalated.
Nelmes says that she was taken to a police station, had to sign something which she could not read and was detained overnight.
Following a court appearance she was released but has been told to stay in Turkey while the case is pending investigation. She says that the judge says she could face a possible three-year prison term.
