Comedian Mitch Benn is recording two special radio shows paying tribute to two musical icons, David Bowie and Bob Dylan.
At 7.15pm on Wednesday 13 May at RADA Studios in Central London he will be recording Mitch Benn is The Fat Pink Duke.
David Bowie was the first rock star the Now Show performer can remember being aware of. He was two, David was Ziggy Stardust and he remembers feeling that while he liked him, he didn't really get him. As he's grown up - and David Bowie has grown up right alongside - Mitch realises that 'not really getting David Bowie' is the whole point.
Then two weeks later at 7.15pm on Wednesday 27 May at the BBC Radio Theatre he will be recording The Freewheelin' in which he looks at how Bob Dylan changed what it is to be a songwriter, changed what it is to be a rock star and, more than anyone else, changed what it is to be a singer.
In both programmes Mitch Benn explores his own personal relationship to these musical titans, mixing laughs and genuine admiration.
