Stand-up comic Laura Smyth (Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Would I Lie To You?) and her best friend Carmen Butcher will put a stop to taking life too seriously and celebrate all things stupid in their brand-new Global Original podcast Shouldn’t Laugh But… with Laura Smyth and Carmen Butcher.
With episodes available to listen to weekly from Wednesday 3rd September on Global Player and all major podcast platforms, the podcast will join besties Laura and Carmen as they let their intrusive thoughts win and laugh at all the things they know they shouldn’t as they mull over all the daft things that happened to them and others across the week.
Cosying up together in their podcast studio, the two pals will switch off their social filters and find the funny in anything and everything. From examining their own personal disasters to the chaos of family life and everyday weirdness, Laura and Carmen will leave no stone unturned in searching for the stupidity in every situation.
The pair will also turn their attention to the wildest most wonderful moments in news and pop culture. Whether it’s chuckling at the unlikely emergence of the Ibiza ‘final boss,’ Jeff Bezos’ tasteless $50 million wedding, or stifling laughter over a Florida resident finding out what happens when you shake hands with an alligator, they’re here to giggle at the glorious nonsense all around us – with their filters turned off!
