London Shows For Jewish Comedians Cancelled In Edinburgh

Jewish Comedian Dropped From Venue Gets Two New Venues' Runs

Jewish comedy performers Rachel Creeger and Philip Simon made headline news at the Edinburgh Fringe last month when venues cancelled their shows shortly before the Fringe started.

London venue JW3 has reached out to offer both shows a place to perform this Autumn. Rachel Creeger: Ultimate Jewish Mother will be on Wednesday 17 September at 7.30pm; and Philip Simon: Shall I Compare Thee In A Funny Way? will be on Wednesday 22 October at 7.30pm.

Their shows eventually found new venues in the Scottish capital – and both comedy talents went on to win coveted Pegasus Comedy Awards. Rachel Creeger won the Spirit of the Fringe Award 2025 and her fellow comic and co-host of the podcast Jew Talkin’ To Me? Philip Simon, won Compilation Show of the Year Award 2025 for his compilation show Jew-O-Rama!

Their shows are not political shows. In her show Rachel Creeger rises like the deceased Fruma Sarah (Lazar Woolf’s first wife), from the dream sequence in Fiddler on the Roof! And Philip Simon’s mix of jokes and spontaneous chat is JW3’s only comedy gig where the audience is in control.
