Comedian Bridget Christie is to present this year's Linda Smith Lecture at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury on November 3. The talk is being put on by The British Stand-Up Comedy Archive and the Performance & Theatre Research Group. The annual talk is named after comedian Linda Smith, who died in 2006. Memorabilia from her career is stored in the archive at the University of Kent.

Previous speakers include Jo Brand, Mark Thomas, Andy Hamilton, Susan Calman, Robin Ince, Angela Barnes, Henry Normal, Jan Ravens and Barry Cryer.
