Belgian comedian, physics nerd and science communicator Lieven Scheire will be addressing these questions and more when he returns to the UK in Spring 2026 with his live show Artificial Intelligence. Described as the “secret love child of Stephen Fry and Dara Ó Briain”, Lieven delivers a one-of-a-kind show. Scheire will pull back the curtain on this fascinating, ever-changing and for some, terrifying technology, making complex concepts easily digestible. With 16 dates at theatres around the UK from 11 March, tickets are on sale now here.
Lieven Scheire’s unique blend of science and comedy has seen him sell out shows around the world including at the Edinburgh Fringe with his show on Einstein’s theory of relativity. Artificial Intelligence has already been a blockbuster success in Belgium and the Netherlands and Scheire has published a bestselling book of the same name, which is available in Dutch and English.
The QI Elves are also great fans of Lieven, and he has been a guest on their podcast No Such Thing as a Fish hosted by Dan Schreiber amongst others, who describes him as ‘the Stephen Fry of Belgium’.
Artificial Intelligence will see Lieven Scheire introduce this new ‘superhero’ of technology in an entertaining and accessible way. You’ll get a glimpse of how it all works, what it can already do, and what it will be capable of in the future. It’s a first encounter with something that might become your new friend, butler, advisor, psychologist, personal trainer or guardian angel!
Since Edinburgh, Lieven is no stranger to performing in the UK, featuring in high-profile gigs such as the Barbican’s Wikipedia festival, and the Pint of Science tour, which took him to universities in London, Oxford and Cambridge. In 2023, Lieven was a keynote speaker with his AI show at the Love Tomorrow Campus, an initiative by Tomorrowland. He has since performed at the Northern Ireland Science Festival and the Norwich Science Festival. Lieven is the face and founder of Nerdland, a popular brand in which he, alongside a group of geeky friends, brings science and technology closer to the broader public. He has written several bestsellers in the Nerdland book series, created multiple science programs for Belgian television, hosts the Nerdland podcast (top 3 podcasts in Belgium) and organises the biggest science festival in the Benelux: Nerdland Festival.
