David Walliams Dropped by Harper Collins Over Alleged Inappropriate Behaviour

Comedian-turned-best-selling children's author David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher Harper Collins over alleged inappropriate behaviour towards women.

A spokesman for Harper Collins said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

The Telegraph reported that the decision was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

Walliams, 54, has sold more than 60 million copies of his books worldwide in 55 languages since HarperCollins published his first children's book, The Boy in the Dress, in 2008.

Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy have also been adapted into television films.

He made his name in the BBC sketch comedy Little Britain alongside Matt Lucas. The show later received criticism for some of its characterisations in sketches. The duo recently recorded a podcast together.

Walliams also worked with Lucas on Come Fly With Me and was part of the judging panel for ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for services to charity and the arts.

His latest book, Santa and Son, was published earlier this year.
