This week's line-up of Richard Osman's House of Games includes a comedy legend who is about to return to the London stage in a major role. the show's guests this week are Tasha Ghouri, Jon Kay, Alexandra Mardell and Griff Rhys Jones
Griff Rhys Jones is set to star in I’m Sorry, Prime Minister will be transferring to the West End at the Apollo Theatre from 30 January to 25 April with press night on 12 February 2026. More details here.
Set principally in the private office of a British cabinet minister in the fictional Department of Administrative Affairs in Whitehall, Yes Minister followed the ministerial career of Jim Hacker, played by the late Paul Eddington, who was best known at that point for his role in sitcom classic The Good Life.
Griff Rhys Jones stars as ex-Prime Minister Jim Hacker alongside Clive Francis who is reprising the role of Sir Humphry Appleby. This is the final chapter of Yes, Minister written and directed by BAFTA Award-winning Jonathan Lynn, which sees the pair in their old age facing up to life in their retirement. The production is co-directed by Michael Gyngell.
Rhys Jones must surely be on the cusp of being a national treaure. Older comedy fans will remember him as being one of the stars of the groundbreaking comedy Not the Nine O'Clock News. With his late comedy partner Mel Smith he also starred in further TV shows in the 1980s.
Smith and Jones are also part of rock history. They had the honour of introducing Queen at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985. So after performing to an audience that big appearing on House of Games ought to be a doddle.
