Ayoade Mortimer Laugh Off Up For Bafta Memorable Memorable Moment

The showdown between Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade on Last One Laughing is one of the scenes nominated for the P&O Cruises BAFTA Television Awards Memorable Moment Award - the only award decided on by the public. Voting is open now: www.bafta.org/moment

The Award honours the impact of television in the UK and its power to entertain, inform and bring the nation together. The nominations were compiled by an esteemed independent jury of influential TV critics as well as TV presenter, Josie Gibson, showcasing key moments from 2025 that reflect the power of TV. BAFTA’s Television Committee chair, Hilary Rosen chaired the jury.

 

Voting is open until 21.00 on Wednesday 22 April 2026. The winner will be announced at the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises on Sunday 10 May 2026 on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and @BAFTA social channels.

The six nominated memorable moments are:

  • Adolescence (Netflix) – Jamie snaps at the psychologist
  • Big Boys (Channel 4) – “I didn’t make it, did I?”
  • Blue Lights (BBC) – The police are warned of an ambush plot to silence a key witness
  • The Celebrity Traitors (BBC) – Alan Carr wins The Celebrity Traitors
  • Last One Laughing (Prime Video) – Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade’s speed date
  • What It Feels Like For A Girl (BBC) – Byron leaves for Brighton to start Uni, where she introduces herself as Paris
 
Members of the public can vote for their P&O Cruises Memorable Moment online via   www.bafta.org/moment. Voters will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win one of 10 pairs of ceremony tickets to the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises on Sunday 10 May 2026.
