TV Preview: Claudia Winkleman Show With Jimmy Carr, Lisa Kudrow, Jamie Dornan, Chase Infiniti

Claudia Winkleman returns on Friday 27th March at 10:40pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Joining Claudia on the sofa this week are Emmy® award-winning Friends legend Lisa Kudrow, The Tourist and The Fall star Jamie Dornan, stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr and rising Hollywood star of Oscar winning One Battle After Another Chase Infiniti.

Reflecting on her return to hit sitcom ‘The Comeback’, Lisa Kudrow revealed how she slips back into her character despite the passing years: “I get the wig on, and we’re on the set, and I think ‘I don’t know if I know how to do this’… because she is 10 years older every time - but I got in the swing of it!”

Lisa also revealed how a storyline for her character Valerie was influenced by The Traitors UK star, Linda Rands - before being surprised in the studio by Linda herself. Jamie Dornan admitted: “It’s the only thing [The Traitors] that my wife, my three kids and the dog genuinely watch together. It’s incredible, I think it is the best thing on TV!” with Lisa adding “me too!”

Chase Infiniti shared the story behind her unique name, explaining: “My parents had watched Batman Forever, and Nicole Kidman played the character Chase Meridian… and then Infiniti comes from Toy Story - ‘to infinity and beyond!’” She added that her sister also has an unusual name, she’s called Dolce and she’s into fashion. Chase also recalls meeting Nicole Kidman at this year’s Oscars: “I told her I was named after her - she was so lovely!”

Having starred in this year’s best picture winner, ‘One Battle After Another,’ Chase revealed how she partied the night away: “I went to five parties that night! It was my first Oscars; I tried to go to as many as I possibly could!”. Discussing working with Leonardo DiCaprio and how she was cast for the film, Chase said: “I definitely got cast for One Battle with the help of my K-pop covers on YouTube.” She continued: “My first camera test I had, I was asked to shave his [Leonardo DiCaprio] face, and I didn’t know what I was doing. I was shaking the entire time because it was an electric razor and I just kept thinking ‘What am I doing? This is Leonardo DiCaprio!’”

The conversation then turned to Friends, where Lisa Kudrow said: “I don’t mind talking about Friends - I’m proud of it,” as she discussed how she is re-watching the show while revealing a surprising next-generation twist - her son’s girlfriend has never watched it, something she admits her son is thrilled about. She also shared behind-the-scenes memories from filming, including how security would check her car after shoots, and how she eventually took home Phoebe’s rings along with the iconic cookie jar gifted to her by Matthew Perry.

Highlighting the show’s cultural impact, Claudia asked audience members named Phoebe to stand, with a huge amount of the audience rising to their feet. Jimmy Carr joked: “I hope Nicole Kidman is watching this!”

Jimmy Carr also brought his trademark wit to the sofa talking about the new series of ‘Last One Laughing’: “I was surprised that people take it so seriously but I kind of love that about it. Comedians are an odd bunch at the best of the times... I mean there is something missing to want to be a stand-up comedian - something’s gone wrong somewhere.” Revealing what his game-plan would be if was a contestant in the show, he joked: “I would wear what I normally wear, a three piece [suit] and a tie and I would just full Magic Mike, Full Monty it, and grind! Lots of eye contact and super sexy.”

Offering some words of advice for Jamie Dornan who is hosting this weekend’s Saturday Night Live UK, Jimmy said: “Dedicate 25 years of your life to stand-up comedy, and then I think you will nail it” with Jamie responding: “I couldn’t be less prepared for this!”
