Legendary contestant on BAFTA and Rose D’Or winning Taskmaster, star of RTS Award winning Junior Taskmaster, and host of hit cult podcast Three Bean Salad, Mike Wozniak once again extends his brand-new stand-up show ‘The Bench’, announcing a third leg of dates to his biggest stand-up tour yet to keep up with overwhelming demand from fans to see his latest show. Wozniak is set to perform at even more venues across the UK including an eleven-night run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 6th – 16th August at Assembly’s Main Hall. Tickets will go on general sale on 5th June here.
‘The Bench’ sees brand new material from the “deliciously distinctive” (Bruce Dessau, The Evening Standard) stand-up in which a story about a bench will be prominent. Previous experience of or strong opinions about benches not required. Let Mike worry about that.
On screen, Wozniak recently appeared in the BBC’s brand-new adaptation of the hit children’s novel Dexter Procter: the 10-Year-Old Doctor, written and created by BAFTA-winner Adam Kay (This is Going to Hurt), Wozniak starred alongside Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Konnie Huq (Blue Peter), Harry Enfield (Harry Enfield and Chums), and Sue Johnston (The Royle Family).
Elsewhere Wozniak is best known for playing Brian in Man Down (Channel 4) and for creating some of the show’s most memorable moments as one of the contestants on series 11 of Taskmaster (Channel 4), after which life was never quite the same. He has also been seen on Would I Lie To You (BBC One), We Are Not Alone (Dave), Horrible Histories (CBBC), It’s Kevin (BBC Two) and many more, while his film credits include Prevenge (directed by Alice Lowe).
A prolific writer, Wozniak’s writing credits include series three and four of Man Down, all four series of Small Scenes (BBC Radio 4) and a one-off physical comedy for Sky Arts entitled Ruby Robinson which starred Kim Cattrall alongside a troupe of acrobats. He also wrote and directed the short film Sump, starring Gemma Whelan, Daniel Rigby and Jeany Spark, which was selected in competition for numerous film festivals around the world.
As a stand-up Wozniak has been a comedy festival regular for many years and has penned numerous solo shows. His debut, eponymous stand-up show was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2008 and in 2013 his show Take The Hit was nominated for Best Show. Most recently he took his one-man show Zusa on a sell-out tour across the UK and Ireland. He also created the St Elwick’s Neighbourhood Association Newsletter Podcast to critical acclaim and is a regular performer on The Beef and Dairy Network Podcast.
