US comic Jamie Wolf has won Edinburgh Fringe Comedian of the Year.

 

Jamie takes home the title, trophy and £1,500 cash after an intense month of competition at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

 

The competition attracted 350 applications, with 100 comedians selected to battle it out across 18 heats before the competition reached its dramatic Finals Week.

 

After weeks of packed-out shows, huge performances and fiercely contested audience votes, just five comedians made it through to tonight's Grand Final — and there could only be one winner.

 

The five finalists represented the international spirit of the Edinburgh Fringe, with comedians from five different countries competing for the crown:
Donal Vaughan — Ireland


El Purnell — Ecuador, by way of the UK


Vlad Ilich — North Macedonia

Jamie Wolf — USA


Devin Gray — South Africa

 

Vlad Ilich was returning to the Grand Final for the second consecutive year, while the other finalists had battled through an exceptionally competitive month to earn their place on the biggest stage of the competition.

 

There was no judging panel. No industry vote. The audience decided.

 

Every stage of the competition was determined by the people in the room, making every performance and every vote count.

 

The Grand Final audience delivered its verdict and Jamie Wolf emerged as the comedian they believed deserved to be crowned the best stand-up comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.
