Josh Widdicombe In Strictly Spray Tan Drama

Josh Widdicombe In Spray Tan Drama

Fans of Josh Widdicombe may have wondered if becoming co-host of Strictly Come Dancing would mean the end of his job with another pair of presenters - Alex Brooker and Adam Hills on Channel Four's The Last Leg.

They need not have worried though - Widdicombe was back on TV with Brooker and Hills on Friday night as if nothing had changed. Although Brooker and Hills certainly got a laugh out of it. Hills said "You have to be careful On one show two left feet is a bad thing, on the other it's a potential gold medal."

Except that something had changed.

The comedian, who grew up in Devon and now lives in a farmhouse near Exeter, now has slightly darker skin on The Last Leg due to the fact that for Strictly he has to have a spray tan so that he doesn't stick out by being the only person on the show who looks pasty-faced. And The Last Leg has, as Hills put it to Josh, "messed with your spray tan routine."

Josh explained: "My skin, there's a tone for it, which is 'printer paper'...So I have to get a spray tan, and I normally get it overnight so I can wash it off in the morning but I had to get it early this morning so I can wash it off before this show, otherwise it would have been problematic."

Brooker said of his golden glow, "doesn't he look like he's been playing golf in La Manga?"

Widdicombe now comes up to London on Thursday night, checks into a hotel and on Friday morning goes to Strictly to work on the script and the show before heading over to The Last Leg on a motorbike: "On the back - I'm not a rebel without a cause."

Widdicombe revealed all on the first edition of the new series of The Last Leg, at which point Alex Brooker produced a plastic sheet for him to sit on so that his tan didn't leave streaks on the white leather seating.

Josh quipped: "If you had to bet who would end up having to sit on a sheet like this I wouldn't have guessed it would be me."

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One on Saturday and Sunday nights airing every weekend until Christmas.

The Last Leg is on C4 on Friday nights.
