The two winners of the Comedy Posters Awards 2015 were announced last night at an event at the Assembly Checkpoint.
Tom Parry was chosen as winner by the judges panel, while Michael Stranney & Olaf Falafel won the public vote.
There were 402 entries and over 30,000 votes cast in the public vote category.
You can see Tom Parry's poster here. Parry said: "It was a great photo taken by my friend* in a gig, and it reminded me of The Clash album cover. Lets have it in black and white with the t-shirt yellow! The ace Ed Moore did the rest." Parry wins £1500.
You can see examples of Stranney and Falafel's poster, illustrated by Elliott Quince, here. Olaf Falafel explained: "To reflect the variety and unexpected nature of our show, we commissioned 21 different ‘remixes’ of our show poster – a different one for each day of the run in Edinburgh." Displayed is a selection of 9 of the 21 posters, other variations included WWF wrestlers, Wayne’s World, Roman statues, Vikings, skeletons and severed heads.
