Ricky Gervais has released a trailer for his forthcoming film Special Correspondents.

The film is written and directed by Gervais who also co-stars alongside Eric Bana and Vera Farmiga (pictured) plus Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollak, America Ferrera, Raúl Castillo, and Benjamin Bratt.

The film tells the story of a New York-based radio journalist (Bana), who fakes Ecuadorian war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in New York.

Gervais also tweeted today that he was going to be doing some stand-up comedy later this year: "Been writing & directing 2 movies for the past couple of years but I'm finally going to do some new material stand up shows in May. Yikes."

Special Correspondents premieres on Netflix on April 29.
