Veteran comedian John Dowie is writing his autobiography and is hoping to finance it via crowdfunding.

“The Freewheeling John Dowie” is a memoir about cycling and stand-up comedy. The book is being published by Unbound. You choose what you want to pay from a list of “pledges” on the right hand side of the page. Once the target figure has been reached, the book goes into production. As Dowie says: " It’s not unlike buying a book in a bookshop. The only difference is, you don’t get to take your book home until everybody else in the shop has bought one as well."

Dowie is about to make his live comeback, playing his first gig in around 14 years with Dave Cohen on May 19. Details here.
