Kerry Howard has been cast as the young Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC's forthcoming prequel of classic sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.

Howard, who is Russell Howard's sister in real-life, is best known for playing selfish sibling Laura in acclaimed BBC3 sitcom Him & Her (pictured).

She also starred in A Gert Lush Christmas, written by Russell Howard, which went out last December.

The new version has been written by original writer Roy Clarke and filming will start this week.
