Update 5/6: Target reached! The makers now have a stretch goal - see link below for more info.
Game of Thrones’ John Bradley and comedian Seann Walsh have teamed up to star in new film ‘Roger’.
The comedy short is about Stephen (Seann Walsh) who arrives home after six months away to discover his best friend Roy (John Bradley) has replaced him with a ventriloquist's doll called Roger.
John Bradley is best known for playing Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones who was Jon Snow’s loyal companion. He has appeared in Shameless and is also an accomplished drummer with experience in stand-up comedy. Seann Walsh recently presented the BBC’s coverage of The Oxford vs Cambridge Boat Race. Another short film starring Walsh, The Drunk, has also just been released. You can watch that here.
'Roger' was shot in London in February and was directed by Brendan Cleaves and written by Cleaves and Stuart Foreman.
“John and Seann were hilarious together. It was like they’d been best mates for years” says Cleaves. “We’re delighted with what we shot and can’t wait to share it with the world. Hopefully this will lead to something even bigger” adds Foreman.
The film is self-funded and to help with post-production costs, a Kickstarter campaign is to be launched on May 3 at 7pm which will have 30 days to reach £10,000. Rewards for early backers include an on-screen associate producer credit, signed scripts, VIP tickets to the London screening and the jumpers worn in the film. The film will be shown at festivals later this year.
