Comedian Katy Brand is to join production company Merman as  Comedy Development Consultant. 

Merman is the Production Company founded and run by award-winning duo Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford. Daniel Walker joins Merman from 42 as Head of Drama Development 

The hires follow the recent commission of comedy pilot The Circuit for Channel 4 that will see writers Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly reunited for the first time since Pulling, in addition to BBC Two pilot Motherland, which will be co-produced with Delightful Industries. Mean while Merman/HBO series Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, is set to air later this year. Merman has also signed a development deal with Sky Vision that will see the companies work together across three different scripted projects. 

Katy Brand will continue to perform. She is taking a new live show to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
