It is hard to believe there was a time when one liners and wordplay were not particularly popular. These days there are one liner comedians everywhere. There is even a UK Pun Championship. As far as iI know Milton Jones has never entered but then if he did there would be no point anybody else turning up. He is the undisputed master of the finely tuned quip, twisting language to hit a comedic bullseye every time. In longer shows it's clever stuff too, with callbacks and references, which mean that you have to pay attention. Jones is currently working on a new show and you can catch him at the Balham Comedy Festival panning for prime comedy nuggets in Gold Refining In Progress. He is there on Friday, 8 July, tickets here. The Festival runs from July 8 - 16. For full all-star festival line up click here. Milton is also at the 100 Club on June 16 alongside Bridget Christie, Sam Fletcher, Jordan Brookes & Ivo Graham. Tickets here.

5. What has surprised you the most during your career in comedy?
How angry people get if they don't like you. How big comedy is now. The lack of late night healthy food at service stations.
