Sarah Millican is to do a special one-off gig at the Edinburgh Fringe in support of the Leicester Comedy Festival.
The show will feature Millican plus a line-up of special guests. The performance takes place at Underbelly, George Square, on Tuesday 16th August at 5pm and tickets are now on sale via www.underbellyedinburgh.co.uk.
Sarah Millican says: “I’ve played Leicester Comedy Festival loads since my first time in 2005 and always loved it. It’s a great festival and Geoff and his team do a smashing job every year, developing the programme and events. I’m very happy to be able to continue to support it with this special show in Edinburgh."
Leicester Comedy Festival founder and Director, Geoff Rowe, said: “we are thrilled that Sarah and other special guests have agreed to support the festival for this one-off special show. As a not-for-profit, registered charity it’s important that the festival continues to receive support from comedians who have performed over the past 23 years, as well as those who are just starting out. We’ll be announcing the full line up for this benefit show in the next week or so, so watch out for some exciting announcements.”
Leicester Comedy Festival 2017 runs from 8-26 February and is supported by Leicester City Council and De Montfort University. It was announced last week that De Montfort University is now the main sponsor of the festival, which was previously sponsored by TV channel Dave.
The full programme will be published in November and details are available from www.comedy-festival.co.uk
