Simon Pearce, the man behind innovative comedy company Invisible Dot, has set up a new company following Invisible Dot Ltd going into voluntary liquidation earlier this month.
New Promotions, which names Simon Benjamin Pearce, Comedy Promoter, as the only current director, was incorporated on October 6. Beyond The Joke originally approached Pearce for more information after this date but all he responded with after our initial story ran was this via email: "Hi Bruce. I'm working some things out. Have you tweeted this?"
Promoter Will Briggs will now be running Invisible Dot's prestigious Live at the Chapel comedy nights at the Union Chapel in Islington. These were understood to be one of Pearce's more profitable recent activities. Pearce has been in touch today to confirm that he is not going to be running Live at the Chapel and there are no shows planned for his new company. He has decided to take some time before beginning anything new.
Tickets are still available for the previously announced date, on November 12, featuring Sara Pascoe, Joe Lycett, Cardinal Burns and John Robins although not via the ID website, which is still down. There is also a James Acaster show schedued for February 4 next year. Tickets here.
