
Geordie Comedian Dave Johns has won a major award for his role in the Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake.
Johns has bagged Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards this evening.
His co-star Hayley Squires won Most Promising Newcomer.
There was also a win for comedian Brett Goldstein who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Adult Life Skills.
