Mum, the BBC sitcom starring Lesley Manville and written by Stefan Golaszewski, has won Best Comedy Programme at the Broadcast Awards this evening.
The shortlisted shows were Catastrophe, Camping, Fleabag, Murder In Successville and Chewing Gum.
Fleabag, created by and also starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, was successful in two categories. It won Best Multichannel Programme category, beating Charlie Hebdo: Three Days That Shook Paris, Chewing Gum, Love Island, Murdered By My Father and Professor Green: Suicide And Me. And it won the Original Programme Award where it was up against Computer Says Show, Dickensian, Flowers, Is This Rape? Sex On Trial and, erm, Naked Attraction.
The Last Leg won Best Entertainment Programme. The shortlisted shows were Britain's Got Talent, Lip Synch Battle UK, Strictly Come Dancing and Taskmaster. Love Island was Highly Commended.
