Sarah Millican, Jason Manford, Joe Lycett and Nish Kumar are among the top stand-ups doing gigs around the country over the next few months as part of the Stand Up 4 Refugees campaign organised by comcis Tiernan Douieb & Jen Brister to raise funds for Help Refugees
The first show at The Lowry, Salford on 24 March will feature Sarah Millican and Jason Manford alongside Jack Carroll, Mrs Barbara Nice and Isma Almas, with Katie Martin MC-ing.
The second show at the Birmingham Rep on 31 May will feature Joe Lycett and Nish Kumar alongside Mrs Barbara Nice, Robin Ince, Jo Enright and MC Tiernan Douieb.
Next up is Bristol’s wonderful Tobacco Factory theatre on 12 June with Gary Delaney leading the line-up.
The following week Stand Up 4 Refugees will be at the Hertford Theatre on 20 June for a show headlined by the inimitable Ed Byrne, MC’d by Tiernan with other great acts yet to be announced.
The final show will take place at the Brighton Dome on 21 June, with Shappi Khorsandi and Mark Steel leading the performances and Jen Brister as MC.
All the money from ticket sales will go to Help Refugees, the biggest grassroots distributor of aid to those in Europe and the Middle East currently affected by the global migrant crisis and an important voice in the call for fair treatment towards refugees and asylum seekers in the UK and abroad. Help Refugees currently operate in over twenty camps in Europe and the Middle East and their winter fundraising appeal raised nearly £1 million, all of which goes directly to the front lines of the crisis.
