The Irish police have decided not to proceed with a blasphemy investigation following controversial comments about by Stephen Fry on a television show, reported here.

According to a report in the Irish Independent detectives were unable to proceed with the investigation as there was no injured party.

According to reports the Gardai was not able to find a substantial number of people that were outraged, which may have enabled them to proceed with a blasphemy case.
